In addition to the Taste of Salem, the Salem Education Foundation Dollars for Scholars® also hosts the Lion Legacy banquet each spring as a project to earn funding and to expand the number of  scholarships for Salem High School seniors. 

The goals are to publicly honor successful SHS graduates and at the same time bringing in proceeds from the banquet to fund existing scholarships and to encourage the establishment of additional scholarships by honorees and atendees.

We've found that the Lion Legacy program advances our chapter's mission and goals to provide both financial and academic support for Salem, Indiana students as they prepare for college and careers.

Lion Legacy honorees share their experiences and successes with the entire student body during the school day and often become mentors for students interested in their career area. Tickets are sold to community members for the banquet that evening which features speeches by each Lion Legacy and presentation of their awards.
